Barry began playing poker with his father at the tender age of twelve. Barry has always excelled in math and science as he received his B.S. in computer science and he worked on his PhD in mathematics at the University of Illinois. Before Barry became a poker legend he worked at Symantec for seven years before retiring at the age of 36. Barry has made his poker living playing in the highest stake games in Northern California and now in Larry Flint's game at the Hustler Casino. Barry is the most generous man in the poker industry. He has donated every bit of his tournament winnings to charity, most of which goes to Children, Inc. This is affiliated with schools, orphanages and welfare centers providing food, clothing and educational needs. Barry is well known for being a very precise and methodical poker player; these traits serve him well to stay alive in the large tournaments. Barry proved this theory to be true by picking up his second World Series of Poker bracelet at this year's $1500 Pot Limit Omaha event.
