Most people recognize Chris for being the 2003 Main Event champion at the World Series of Poker. He was an internet qualifier through the PokerStars.com online card room. He was able to turn a $40 investment into $2.5 million. Chris did not have the funds to travel to the World Series, so his father and a close friend sponsored him with the promise of sharing a portion of any winnings that Chris won. Before winning the 2003 World Series of Poker, Chris worked two jobs to make ends meet; one as an accountant and the other was at a local restaurant. Chris recently finished writing a book about his performance at the World Series ("How an amateur poker player turned $40 into $2.5 million at the World Series of Poker").
