John has been playing poker since he was 16 years old and he started playing poker full time when he was 21. He became serious about poker after he would watch and then eventually participate in games with family and friends. John splits his time between $80-$160 Limit Hold'em and No-Limit cash games as well as playing in the major tournaments. John can be seen regularly at the tables with his Ipod in hand listening to trance and hip hop beats. John's recipe for success is what he calls a combination of confidence, patience, and just following his gut instincts. This recipe is obviously working for him as he is the current leader in the 2005 Player of the Year race. He is one of the classiest players in the game today as he plans on using his poker winnings to help improve the quality of life of others in his hometown of Hue, Vietnam. John is planning on starting a charity that will help underprivileged children. John is a player to be reckoned with at the poker tables, and the majority of professionals are well aware where he is at all times.
