Phil entered the professional poker world via the high-tech industry. After entering college as a national merit scholarship finalist at fifteen years old, Phil graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology at twenty with a degree in computer science. He is an adventure traveler fanatic, sports fan, an accomplished businessman, not to mention he is a world class poker player. Phil has won nearly $1.1 million dollars in poker tournaments since taking the poker world by storm at the 2001 World Series of Poker championship event where he finished fourth as well as earning a spot on the travel channel documentary ("inside the World Series of Poker"). In 2002, Phil was invited by ultimatebet.com to play in the professional division of the World Poker Tour's inaugural tournament in Aruba, where he defeated a star laden field to take the first place check. He respects the playing styles of Layne Flack, Daniel Negreanu, and Scotty Nguyen the most on the professional circuit. Lately, you can see Phil playing the major events as well as his appearances as an expert poker analyst, and co host of the television show Celebrity Poker Showdown.
