Phil is one of the most talked about poker players in the game today. Not necessarily because of his tremendous talent, but because of his personality. He is a very flamboyant and very dramatic poker player. Phil started playing poker in college in 1985. Phil was the youngest world champion of poker at only 24 years old. He is a nine time winner at the World Series of poker, and is currently second on the all time earnings list at the World Series behind Greg Raymer. Phil has started to build his own empire consisting of books, instructional videos, cell phone games and more. Phil's career goal is to become the best poker player of all time. The players that he most respects on the poker circuit are: Ted Forrest, Johnny Chan, and Annie Duke. Phil's 2005 season has started off pretty strong with a win at the first ever National Heads up Poker Championship.
